D'ERLANGER has those old-school rock vibes with Tetsu's rhytmic percussion, SEELA's mysterious bass, CIPHER's dirty riffs & Kyo's gruff voice that certainly fit Asakura's rather yakuza-esque type of wild antagonist. Alongside his two favorite riders to pester--Kitaoka, the lawyer he's obsessed with since he fumbled his defense and Shinji, our sweet if rather naive protagonist that clashes with Asakura's violent worldview. My very first AMV with a song from my RenShinji playlist...! If I had to pinpoint the exact moment I started to get pumped-up about amvs all over again, it would certainly be when I was making this video. With a fan-favorite 黒夢 song, I pictured NicoNicoDouga's old MADs with no flashy effects as I made this one.
I wanted to capture their push-and-pull relationship, with a focus on Ren's rather complicated feelings towards Shinji: His inaction, repression and uncertainty tied in with the freezing imagery with lyrics such as

This one is such a classic to me. It was my first amv using clipchamp! I hate to see Shinji suffer, but I love that his suffering is the cause for Ren's dilemmas. This is another song from my Renshinji playlist, it plays a bit into the loop aspect of their relationship and the rider war. And also Shinji's dissapointed-worried stare that mimics Eri's same glances directed at Ren... Eri and Shinji are quite similar, so of course I had to include a song that talks about old wounds heh... Cue Francisco singing

My very first amv that got locked out of yt so I uploaded it on tumblr instead LOL! Shorter than my other videos considering Clipchamp was crashing like crazy when I made this one.... I sense some kind of pattern with my video editors packing it up when I try to make tezushin amvs.... Anyway, I had to cut it short and it was a revenge against my first tezushin amv that had aspect-ratio problems, so I got a little more adventurous with the effects in this one! At first I only made AMVs with Cascada songs, to keep the old traditions of amv making haha, so obviously this extended to my first serious Ryuki AMV. I also wanted to try more old-school video coloring and the result was this! I didn't want to repeat episodes/clips from my ICE MY LIFE amv soooo I digged into Inoue's vision of renshinji for this one... I might have my reservations about his depictions of Ryuki, but that man sure loves his renshinji...! Sadly, I had no RAWs of the Rider Time special...

This one irks me, mostly because I struggled with multiple versions of this AMV in at least 3 different video-editing software and during the final export the aspect ratio decided it was going to be a square!!! I can't even remember the old editor I used before it decided to charge a subscription for videos that lasted more than 2 minutes...tsk tsk. Anyway, not much to say besides I LOVE BELIEVE! It's kinda hopeful in its depiction of a love so deep it hurts, and upbeat too! As for the video itself, I wanted to bring attention to the paralells between Shinji and Yuichi, specially appearance wise. Just like with Eri, I don't think it was unintentional...
